SUNDAY BRUNCH was on our actual founding day 100 years ago! We had a wonderful open house at the synagogue, gave tours of the synagogue, provided people with an opportunity to see all our memorabilia, and enjoyed live music performances from Judy Buchman and friends, including Marcia Kalin, flute, and Janet Chinelli, piano. Lily Galperin played a piano program, "Baroque to Modern: Impressions of Spring from Many Lands."

The first collage below shows a few of those who attended, and the second collage highlights some of the performers and the a tour of the synagogue conducted by Rabbi Jill Hausman.

The second part of our evening was our wonderful performers. Bob Greenberg did his hilarious comedy, Marina Kifferstein played the violin with incredible skill and sonorous beauty. Cheryl Ann Allen captivated us with her Sophie Tucker imitation, Tovah Feldshuh treated us to her acting and singing talents, and both Anna Bergman and Adrienne Haan showcased their exceptional voices.

Joan Finkelstein welcomed the audience and the honorees, and hosted the March of the Presidents, honoring current president Carol Ostrow and past presidents Alan Kifferstein, Dan Feld, and Robert Reicher. The screening of our anniversary/historical video was hosted by Carol Ostrow. We honored Barbara Bova, a dedicated member of the Temple, and two performers in our community: Tovah Feldshuh and Jackie Hoffman.

The Rehearsal and the Final Preparations

Here are some behind the scenes looks at what happens before the audience sees or hears the wonderful performances they enjoyed on the evening of our 100th Anniversary Gala Celebration.

First we have a collage of pix from our rehearsal, when everyone gathered together on March 6th, 2017, one week before the Gala, to practice everything they would do individually and together as a group. The location is The Actors' Temple sanctuary.

Second is a collage showing some of our performers getting ready and testing out the sound system on March 13th, 2017, the day of the Gala. Don't you wonder how they do that, all of them seeming to be singing and talking at once? It's some kind of magic trick only they know! The location is the Friars Club where the Gala took place.
