Dear Members and Friends of the Actors' Temple:
Shalom! As July gives way to August, we know that the Holy Days will soon be here. This year we are planning a full complement of services on both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, conducted by Rabbi Jill Hausman, and assisted by Rabbi Robert Teixeira. Music will be provided by pianist, James Besser. On the second morning of Rosh Hashanah we will again have a creative service, with music, poetry, dance, and more. There is a free service on Saturday evening, September 19th, the second night of Rosh Hashanah, which welcomes everyone. For those wishing to stay at the Temple all day on Yom Kippur, the synagogue will remain open and there will be a study session. A children's program, including children's services, conducted by our wonderful Hebrew School teacher, Noah Mencow, will be given on both days of Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur, in the mornings. Please let us know on the ticket order form the times and dates you would like your children to attend, so that we can plan appropriately. Below you will find a schedule of High Holy Day Services and related events.
Since our dues are extremely low, we do ask for our members and friends to purchase Holy Days tickets. Tickets are $125 for members and $225 for non-members. (We have one of the lowest ticket prices in New York.) Again this year, all ticket prices include the Break-Fast, for which we ask you to please make reservations, so that we know how many people to expect. Please either fax the ticket purchase form to the Temple or mail it in, or call our office to order tickets. You may pay by check or credit card.
If you are not yet a member of the Actors' Temple, but would like to become one, we welcome you! We are offering High Holiday tickets at member prices if you sign up and pay your 2009 membership dues of only $75 for individuals or $150 for families.
PLEASE NOTE: There are many volunteer opportunities at the Temple for the High Holidays. We appreciate all who would like to usher in the sanctuary or to set up the Break-Fast. Please call the office, 212-245-6975, or e-mail actorstemple@aol.com if you would like to volunteer.
We look forward to seeing all of you as we embark on a new and exciting year together.
Sincerely,
Dan Feld, President Rabbi Jill Hausman
